Comment: I know it was an 80's children's cartoons I decided to buy this DVD is my attempts to "recapture my childhood" and I wasn't disappointed! The movie itself was okay but the DVD extras are what make this a "must-keep" for me. It this particular movie, the Joes try to stop Cobra from deeolving the world through these organic spores. In this movie the true ancient origins of Cobra(la) are FINALLY revealed.
The movie marked a landmark in GI Joe storylines. Most the old-time favorite Joes and Cobras appeared. Many new characters also made their debut (Lt. Falcon, the Renegades, Nemesis Enforcer, etc). However, the movie itself may NOT be the best feature of this DVD. The exclusive DVD features are. This movie may be the begining and the end of the era or cartoon. You can be the judge of this.

Summary: Even with the lack of Snake Eyes this is still my favorite animated film
Comment: G.I. Joe the movie had it all when released in 1987. Action, humor and new characters. The plot which introduces new characters such as Falcon, Jinx, Tunnel Rat & Law is stil awe inspiring. While the villians such as Sepenator and Cobra Commandor play the villian roles perfectly. I love this movie and watching nowadays as a 20 year old man takes me back to my childhood of playing with toys. If you loved G.I. Joes as a chlid and haven't seen this movie you're in for a treat. I can't wait for the live action movie that comes out next summer.

Comment: Also unlike the Transformers movie, it doesnt play like a movie, it just has the same score from the Tv series and kinda plays like one long episode.

Summary: Was never and still not a fan of G.I. Joe
Comment: Overall, I hate G.I.Joe. I dont own the seasons. I hate anything that contains a whole lot of shooting and nobody is ever shot. And if they were shot, it was never, ever, fatally. If there's ammo flying. Animated or otherwise, I want to see people shot dead! GI Joe never gave me that. And there was no blood. With that being said. I pretty much thought this movie was decent. Because it had a little blood. It continued with Cobra fighting for world domination. And with the Joes trying to stop them.
I dont know about others, but I liked the dark setting of this one. And that opening was to die for. This movie delivers more with the action. There is fisticuffs all over this movie. The story in my opinion is a mixed bag. They do a good job in my opinion with the origin of Cobra the organization and Cobra Commander himself. The plot leading up to the end was ok at best. This is what dragged the movie down alot for me. The new characters on both sides just weren't very likable. Tell you how popular they were. Except for Falcon, none of them made an appearance in the episodes after the movie. 'Nuff said.
Well GI JOE the Movie should appeal to most fans. I thought it was alright even though I'm not a fan of GI Joe. This is the only thing of GI Joe in my collection. If you love the series then pick this up. But to those who are new to this should probably rent it. If you didn't follow the seasons its possible you won't enjoy this the same way a fan would because you don't know the characters. Still if your looking for a movie full of fistfights, you might not be disappointed with this.
