Spotlight customer reviews: Customer Rating: Summary: NOT For VOIP Phones Comment: I bought this pinbyemail phone card because the price is good, I didn't want to wait for snail mail, and product reviews were generally good. Unfortunately, the product description does not mention the fact that these cards will not work with VOIP phones. I would have given them no stars but the customer service line worked pretty well. Customer Rating: Summary: Great for international students in the U.S. Comment: At the int'l student orientation at my college they strongly advised that we buy a calling card to keep in touch with our families at home. In the past, some student just used her land phone and ended up with a $6,000+ bill in the first semester alone. Not with this card! 2.5 cents per minute (for calls to Italy, but YMMV depending on the country you're calling: check the item description for detailed info). Connection is fast and the service is never down. There are a few dropped calls... I've had 6-7 over a three-year period, with frequent use... so I guess that's acceptable. I've bought 10+ of these cards and I've been very happy with them. Like the other reviewer said, USE THE LOCAL NUMBER! The toll-free, while a good option to have, tends to round off your minutes much less conservatively. I highly recommend you call your base operator and connect to one of the local numbers in the area to use this card. These people have a tendency to bend you over when it comes to using the toll free number. I went from having 12 hours to 9 after a week. i finally got the access number and the card is working great now... just a heads up for anyone serving... Customer Rating: Summary: Completely dissatisfied Comment: I bought the $20 phone card and am dissatisfied. Because only payphones were available, the toll-free access number had to be used. Using the toll-free access to a local land line to leave an answering machine message of less than 2 minutes (probably closer to 1 minute) caused the phone card to drop from 6 hours to 4 hours and 45 minutes. That's ridiculous. It should not cost 1 hour and 15 minutes to leave a message on an answering machine. I would not buy this card again nor would I recommend this card to anyone else.
