The best ever designed Neti Pot!
Dr. Mehta, Founder, President of NeilMed and developer of patented nasal irrigation systems, very strongly believes that no Neti Pot can be as effective as our patented positive pressure SINUS RINSETM device supported by most major medical centers in North America, published in medical journals and used by several millions worldwide.
NeilMeds NasaFloTM Neti Pot comes with 50 packets of a precisely measured mixture of USP grade (99.9% Pure), preservative free Sodium Chloride and Sodium Bicarbonate mixture. Adding one packet of this patented mixture to 8 oz. (240 mL) of lukewarm water, makes a non burning, non stinging, soothing therapeutic solution that gently washes the nasal passages. The device allows for a smooth gravity flow that does not create any pressure in the nasal passage, ears or sinuses. This box also contains an extensive, illustrated, educational brochure on nasal and sinus disease, written by a Dr. Mehta.
Neti Pots have been around for hundreds of years, are not a new concept at all and were the only way to deliver the solution in ancient times. In India, Yoga practitioners used it on a regular basis for cleansing the nasal passages. In Dr. Mehtas opinion, it is an alternate method of nasal irrigation and not as effective as NeilMeds SINUS RINSETM system. It did have a place for nasal irrigation but now should be used only for users who cannot take any pressure during the nasal rinse.
Please read the warning and directions prior to use.
Principles of Nasal Irrigation
Allergies and Sinus disease cause excessive mucus production in the nasal passages. Nasal irrigation will wash away the excess mucus and allergens such as pollen, dust particles, pollutants and bacteria and reduce the inflammation of the mucus membrane. A normal mucus membrane will fight infections and allergies better and thus reduce symptoms of sinus disease and allergies.

Customer Rating: Summary: I can finally breathe! Comment: I've been seeing an allergist for 4 years for chronic sinus problems and allergies. I've been on every medication and have been getting allergy shots for a year. Especially problematic is that the sinus and allergy problems typically trigger migraine headaches. That, and the fact that every time I have a sinus infection, the Dr. wants to give me prednisone. I haven't been able to breathe since I don't know when, until now.
I bought the NetiPot about a week ago and have used it every other day. I can finally breathe. My nasal passages are clear.
As far as the spout that goes in your nose being a little large, I agree. However, you really only need to put the tip up against the inside of your nose for it to work.
When I first used it, it was a little uncomfortable with the saline--like getting chlorine in your nose at the pool. However, I find that if I breathe through my mouth, I don't have an issue.
If you've tried everything but this, I highly recommend you try the neti pot. You'll be glad you did.
Customer Rating: Summary: So-So feelings about this product Comment: There is nothing wrong with the product and I actually like the little packets of salt rather than guesstimating daily. I find using a full packet is way way to much salt for me.
Anyway - the whole thing is quite a mess (just a wet mess, not gross or anything) as my severely deviated septum and larger than average (broken in college) nose create an unavoidable dripping down/sideways/even kinda up .... with a saline solution that make me want to completely wash my face after each use.
Disappointed personally to not have received but benefit from the whole nasal irrigation (not the products fault) but it seems a good idea to try.
FINALLY - I couldn't help but realize (as I waited for mine to arrive) that a single serving Hotel-Style coffee/tea pot with a spout similar to the one on the box cover would do the exact same job as well ... if not perhaps even better. The plastic is very thin and flimsy, but it is ok. It just seems a more durable and sold mini tea pot would be easier and less heavy .... AND PROBABLY A LOT LESS EXPENSIVE (that was not a gripe about the price of this product. It was fine and very competitive ... I've just seen little pots for like $2-3 at IKEA or Import Store.
Customer Rating: Summary: good buy Comment: i have horrible allergies and this product really helps. swelling has went down.. i feel like I'm breathing better..
Customer Rating: Summary: smell that? Comment: If you don't then you might try a NasaFlo Neti-Pot. This is the cheapest remedy that you'll ever find...and it actually works. Away go sinus troubles down the drain!
Customer Rating: Summary: First Timer Experience and Saline Solution Recipes Comment: I got this version of the Neti Pot too. There seems to be tons of options for materials, shapes and sizes. This one seems to combine the best features. I have been interested in Neti Pots since I saw a character on Six Feet Under demonstrate it years ago. I've been plagued by dry nose mucus for a long time. To the point where I'd do steam tents over hot water to get relief from the discomfort. No amount of nose blowing helped.
When I did first nostril, the first time, water hardly dripped out and it took forever to do the whole 8 oz. I had a very productive tissue session then went to the second nostril. The water flowed right out like the pictures and video on the site. I suppose I was really clogged and didn't know it. I felt very clean and clear afterwards. No nose drips later as some have mentioned.
I love the light weightness and the color. The Neti Pot held the water temperature pretty well.
