There is so much interference from neighbor dwellings, and inhouse appliances that this has little chance of working well. I have tried two versions of this gismo. Both were reasonably priced, easy to install, and barely worked. I got such a weak signal that I can do no better than 16k on dial-up. Money down the drain - should have sprung for a hard wired phone company jack.... Customer Rating: Summary: Great for Satellite Plug-in. Comment: This does exactly what I wanted it to do: Allow me to plug in my satellite receiver where there was no phone jack. I have about a 30-foot jump across the room and it is making the connection. When I tested for a dial-tone, though, there was a bit of static on the line so using this as an actual "phone" jack, it did not have a good enough connection for me. It may have had a clearer signal had it not had to jump so far. It is, however, accomplishing the task perfectly of allowing me to eliminate the monthly charge associsated with my satellite service if the receiver wasn't connected to a phone-jack. Data transmission (ordering movies, etc.) is fine. I'd recommend for that purpose. If, however, you need a phone in a room, it may not be the best if you have a larger room.
